Correctional Facilities

With the high number of people in open spaces and few safety options, college campuses and stadiums are at high risk of injury or worse during a lightning storm. Playgrounds and recreation areas at elementary schools face the same problem. Many schools are now required to have warning techniques in place in case of a lightning strike. These systems usually involve someone monitoring lightning in the area and manually alerting pedestrians somehow.

Our EWS-1 monitors the atmosphere within 25 miles, adjustable to your preference, and alerts everyone in the area when lightning conditions are detected. Before a strike even occurs, the EWS-1 alerts pedestrians to seek cover. It can be set to alert a small area or networked with other units or with other systems to alert as large an area as needed.

Sports stadiums today have state of the art press boxes, advanced scoreboards, and monitors screens with countless connections. Because of their location, they are very susceptible to lighting and because of the many systems of electronic equipment they are at high risk for damage. With the Model 2000, we can’t prevent a strike, but we can isolate those systems from the effects that can run on those many lines and do permanent damage.
